Sportsmanship and Camaraderie
The Montauk Canyon Challenge was created to foster sportsmanship and camaraderie among offshore fisherman. While we recognize the great expense each boat incurs to fish our tournament, in the end its about having a good time doing what we love...fishing the Canyons. The Tournament Directors reserve the right to turn a away entry for any boat that does not share our mutual goals.
Hudson & Dealer's Choice
As Captain and Owner of Bella Donna, Dave started this Tournament 6 years ago because Montauk did not have a Tuna Tournament. Having fished many Tournaments, it was easy to design a Tournament that kept the best of many Tournaments and throw out the rules that didn't make sense. Now the Montauk Canyon Challenge has grown into a Tournament that has restored Montauk as home to Top Canyon Sport Fishing Boats. Rich Lucas and the Staten Island Yacht Sales Team have been supportive every step of the way. It is the committees combined belief that Competition, Sportsmanship and Fun...Matter. Hope all of you enjoy the Tournament and we look forward to seeing you at the scales!
